I made this Italian Potato Salad last weekend and thought it was quite yummy.  It tastes best warm or at room temperature.  I had it for lunch and then had some of the leftovers the next day.  I don't recommend it when it is cold, like you would eat typical mayonnaise based potato salad.

This Haitian Pumpkin Soup will definitely become a Fall staple for me.  It is just yummy.  One major difference is that I don't use the blender to puree the squash. I use my immersion blender. Tonight, with the help of Trader Joe's, I made fettuccine with mushrooms  I brought a package of sliced crimini mushrooms, a package of frozen TJ's fettuccine and mushrooms, a bottle of Santa Barbara Landing Chardonnay and a package of frozen peas.

I sauteed about 1/2 of the mushrooms in  2 tablespoons of olive oil. We had make-your-own tuna spring rolls.  A great sushi grade tuna salad that we rolled into spring rolls using rice paper.  We added rice noodles, avocado and Shiso leaves.  A little bit goes a long way.  The web info compares it to mint and basil though the taste has a distinct flavor that is not either mint or basil. The first was pickled ginger and the second was maple-ginger marinated salmon.  I love pickled ginger and decided I wanted to make my own.  So I checked around the Internet and found this recipe.  The hardest part about the preparation is peeling the ginger.  The recipe says to rub the skin off but that didn't seem to work so I used a knife. I'm all about freedom but I really don't care to see your naked body parts, in action or not. The post reminded of a time, long ago when I held lingerie parties. In the theater I watched Julie and Julia which was exactly what I was hoping for.  It was fun and entertaining; I enjoyed the intertwining of the two stories 50 years apart.  Meryl Steep was a great Julia. I didn't do anything strenuous.  I read, played some penny slots, cooked and enjoyed some wine.  It was a wonderful, restful time.  The down side is that I just can't get back into the 9-5 routine. By the time the pasta was cooked and drained, the butter was light brown. To roast them into sweet, yummy goodness, spray the bottom of your pan with olive oil - I use Trader Joe's.  Then pour your tomatoes in the pan. I use Trader Joe's Add 3 or 4 or 5 cloves of garlic, cut into 2 or 4 sections. I use Trader Joe's.  Season with some salt and lemon pepper.  I use Trader Joe's.  Then spritz again with the olive oil.
