Have to confess: I haven't seen No Country for Old Men yet because I'm scared. But I'll see it someday.

No Country was good, too, but I can't really rate it in the csame list with those because it was so scary. Apples to oranges, you know? But if I could watch it you could too! (maybe not by yourself!)
Susan--I would have put this on your Facebook Wall, but for some reason it doesn't allow me to write a wall post on there. Weird.
Anyway, thanks for sending the CNN article--quite interesting. Having worked in a hospital with doctors, I would say that some of the advice in the article will not be easily found for people...like telling your doctor that you believe in miracles. You will find very, very few medical professionals who will not try to talk you out of that belief. I do think you have a good critique about the article, though--no mention of the whole medical team (including chaplains) to help a person explore the spiritual side of their medical problems. I think this is just one of the problems about having chaplains hidden--many times patients are totally unaware that there are people especially trained to meet this particular need.
I seem to like every OTHER Coen Brothers movie. I loathed "No Country"--in fact, I left the theater at one point to go to the restroom and almost didn't return--so I'm quite confident I'll like "Burn Before Reading." Loved Lebowski, hated Fargo. (Yep, I'm the only one who hated Fargo. Really, really hated it.) Loved O Brother. Barton Fink--meh. Liked Hudsucker. Haven't seen Raising Arizona or Blood Simple.
Hmm, folks are all over the map. For me, it's: 1. The Big Lebowski 2. O Brother Where Art Thou 3. Raising Arizona 4. Fargo 5. No Country for Old Men (with reservations) 6. The Lady Killers
I despised Barton Fink, and was mightily disappointed in Hudsucker, doubly so because I can't easily admit that I disliked something Paul Newman was in.

Lebowski and Fargo are my faves! I am also scared to see No Country. :)
I love the Coen brothers, but I have been disappointed by their more recent movies. Here's how I think I'd rate my top 5:
1. Big Lebowski
2. Hudsucker Proxy
3. O Brother, Where Art Thou?
4. Raising Arizona
5. Fargo.
I do have to agree about their most recent movies - though haven't see NCFOM - but I'm looking forward to Burn After Reading.
1. O Brother
2. Raising Arizona
3. Fargo
4. Hudsucker

Karen
Raising Arizona
Oh Brother
Barton Fink
Fargo
Intolerable Cruelty
If you watched Blood Simple, there's no reason to fear No Country
