Restaurant Safety Zone

I guess the message that we Americans are a pretty fat bunch is making headway. It seems restaurants are all getting the healthful food band wagon. Please note I said, "healthful" and not "healthy". I can't tell you the number of times my grandmother said to me, "Food is not healthy, food is healthful." I guess she was right considering the food is on my plate and not out in a field or stream.

Some of the restaurants on this list of "Healthiest Restaurants" surprised me. Ignore the fact that if my grandmother were still alive she'd let you know restaurants are not healthy; just browse the list.

I love, love, love the Souplantation. And PF Chang's. But I think the real undergirding of this article that's not mentioned, though, is that the healthiest place to eat is probably at home.

This is hardly a list of the "healthiest", or even "most healthful", restaurants. It is a list of restaurants who added a few lower-fat, reduced-toxin items to otherwise obesity-spreading menus. They must have paid to be on the list. Also, the list says Ruby's Tuesday's has jealthied up their burgers, adding turkey burgers; I have seen that turkey burger elsewhere on a list of the worst foods in the world (in regards to healthfulness).

that's "healthied up" not "jealthied up"

Menus don't cause obesity, people do! :-)

Don't know about paying to be on the list but I do agree they didn't take away the fattening stuff when they added the other thins. But I do apprecitate being able to go in and get grilled food w/ veggies. It is easier now to avaoid the other items.

That should be other 'things' not 'thins' but the typo is kind of cute, don't you thin! :)
